A puck moves across a level, frictionless table toward a disk that is at rest. The puck does not spin. In this problem, take all angular momenta with respect to the point marked by the X.

a. At the instant shown, is the magnitude of the angular momentum of the disk, |L disk|, zero or non-zero? Explain.

b. At the instant shown, is the magnitude of the angular momentum of the puck greater than, less than, or equal to that of the puck-disk system? Explain.

c. Suppose that the disk were removed, as shown at right. Would the magnitude of the angular momentum of the puck be greater than, less than, or equal to that of the puck-disk system in parts a and b? Explain.
