Who knows about the Political Science of American government?

The questions to be addressed in this discussion is simple. Congress is often deadlocked. We have huge problems with debt. Our health care system is in disarray. Our infrastructure is rated a 'D" by the American Institute of Civil Engineers. We have the greatest income inequality of any modern industrialized country, and the socialfeconomic mobility is also the lowest {the U5. is now the county of least opportunity}. We imprison more people per capita than any history in the history of the world.

However. one newer problem seems to be emerging. We seem to have lost faith in ourinstitutions. so much so that many of us have looked for a savior, a powerful leader that will cut through the normal process of government and ?x things. We see violence at our nation's capital unlike anything since 1814, when British troops invaded and occupied Washington. D.C. during the War of 1812.
