In Module, you will further develop your ability to assimilate and synthesize information. Find a scholarly, academic journal article on a topic related to one of the chapters in the textbook. You may use an article referenced at the end of the chapters in the Ruddell & Thomas text or you may find an article through the Library's periodical database.
Write a 3-5-page critical review and summary of the key points from the article. Here are some things to consider as you read the article:
· What is the significance of the problem or issue focused on in this article?
· Compare the article you are reviewing with the general treatment of the same topic in the text we are using or from the presentations. Does the author agree or disagree with how the topic is presented in the text?
· Is the author authoritative and convincing? Where does the proof and evidence from the author's claims come from? (Examine the author's references).
· How logical is the author's analysis?
· Does the article conform to mainstream views or is it unique?
· Do you agree with the author? Why or why not?
Substantiate your responses with at least 3-5 sources and be sure to cite your sources in-text. It is recommended that you use the textbook as one of your sources. Do not present personal, unsupported opinion or vent personal views. Also, you must integrate a biblical perspective in your critical review and use scripture to support your points.
Your paper should have a substantive conclusion that summarizes your key points. Your review must also have a title paper and a reference page in APA format (you do not need a running head).
