1. Drawing on the course content presented in Section 3, give a brief overview of racial/ethnic disparities in health and the factors driving this inequality. Next, present a real or hypothetical policy aimed at improving the health of minorities and explain why it will work. Importantly, this policy must "seek to improve the quality of life in the places where Americans spend most of their time: [for example] their homes, schools, workplaces, neighborhoods, and places of worship" (Williams and Sternthal 2010:S23). That is, your policy intervention should target the ecological and/or institutional contexts affecting peoples' lives.

2. Is socioeconomic stratification is best reduced by policies aimed at achieving equality of opportunity, equality of condition, equality of outcome, or a combination of these types of equality? Explain why and be sure to summarize each of the three types of equality in your own words and their relevance for different aspects of socioeconomic stratification.
