Question: You attach a rope to a 50 kg crate and use it to drag the crate across the floor. At the point where the rope is attached to the crate it makes an angle of 40 degrees above the horizontal. The coefficient of kinetic friction between the crate and the floor is 0.6, and the maximum tension that the rope can have without breaking is 400 N. Is it possible to drag the crate with a horizontal acceleration of 5 m/s2 without breaking the rope?
