Is Education a Right or Privilege?
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: To persuade my listeners that education is a right
Central Idea: Social class, ethnicity, sex, or religion should not interfere in a person education needs.
INTRODUCTION
Quotation; ‘'There are, of course, determined urban educators who have proved that select schools filled with poor and minority students can thrive--- in the right circumstances, with the right teachers and programs. But consistently good education at school with such student bodies remains the rare exception''. (Muller, 2014)
Thesis Statement:
Having access to an education should be a human right, not a privilege as well as featuring one's education, like going to college or a university, should be earned based on a person's ability to work hard to succeed and achieve qualifying grades not on their ability to pay, as many can't re-ally afford it.
