Country Club is an elite, members-only institution. There are three ways of becoming a member. The first way is through grandfathering, which entitles either the direct kin or spouse of a current member to full membership status. The second way is through sponsorship, which is available to extended family members who are sponsored by a current member. Sponsorship is also available on a per-visit basis. The third way is to become an equity member, whereby the prospective member pledges a significant investment toward improving the club. Members who have been a member of any type for over twenty years are entitled to senior membership status.
Equity and senior status members are entitled to the club's full activity offerings: equestrianism, golf, tennis, and aquatics. Grandfathered members may utilize the club facilities on an à lacarte basis-they may pay monthly club fees for one or more activities. Guests (also known as sponsored members) are entitled to the same privileges are their sponsor. All levels of membership require an individual to have access to at least one club activity, but not all members have access to all activities.
Activities must have one and only one resource. For example, golf has a golf course, and aquatics has a pool. Resources are automatically reserved at the time the activity is scheduled. Activities may or may not be scheduled at a given time, and a member can only schedule one activity at a time. Board members are elected by popular vote among membership, except for sponsored members, who are not entitled to vote. Board members enjoy all the privileges of senior members for the time they are on the board. The treasury holds all information about membership accounts, payments, collections, and lines of credit. The treasurer, who is a member of the board, is responsible for managing the treasury. All members of the club must have one and only one account.
