My Case Study :Topic: Commuter Cycles (https://commutercycles.com.au)
Each student will be assigned a case study organisation.
You are required to investigate the MIS requirements of the organisation in the case study.
You will need to give consideration to the industry sector within which the organisation operates, and carry out an analysis using Porters five forces model.
You should apply Porter’s Value Chain Analysis to the organisation, identifying the Primary Activities and Secondary Activities as they would apply in this instance.
You should make use of the value chain analysis to consider areas where MIS might help the organisation to gain a competitive advantage, and propose an information system innovation that might give such
competitive advantage.
The report should be approximately 1000 words
You should assume that while the audience is not familiar with the particular case study, they have some knowledge of the fundamentals of Information Technology and Management Information Systems. For instance, while you would not expect to need to explain Porter’s Value Chain, you will need to use it to explain your analysis.
You are encouraged to discuss your ideas with your lecturer/ workshop leader, but should not expect to be provided with solutions.
You should expect to make use of resources and references beyond those provided in the text, and to provide a list of references using the Harvard method. See the link on the subject Moodle page for a guide.
Currently they have a small it start-up client
: There is expected to be a growth of 100% in the Penrith office over the next 5 years, and so this level of infrastructure should be built into the current requirements.
