Overview
Task description
In this task you will investigate, analyse, design and document certain aspects of an existing rail and public transport system.
Learning outcome 1: Classify and explain the appropriate roles and operational processes of specific modes of transport at an advanced level.
Learning outcome 2: Exemplify and apply the system for planning, design, operation and management of transport projects and systems using engineering information at an advanced level.
Learning outcome 3: Contribute to a transport engineering assessment, as a team member with negotiated tasks, at an advanced level.
Learning outcome 4: Compose technical documentation of a transport engineering project that meets specifications and includes design calculations and drawings at an advanced level.
What you need to do
In this assessment you will be given a client brief to conduct a transport engineering project. Over a period of 8 weeks you will work in teams of 4 to complete the tasks outlined in the Assessment 1 Existing Conditions stage of the brief and document them in a properly formatted engineering report. In your report you will include a paragraph for each team member that describes their contribution and you will initial contributor/s to each report section. Your individual mark will be informed based upon this evidence of contributions.
