You are working for a construction organization who specializes in using internship posts for Graduate Construction students who have completed two years on their University programme. This is a management strategy that the CEO wishes to adopt, as graduates tend to come back and work with the company when they have completed their final year. You need to write an introductory document that examines the construction industry and the type of work that a company tenders for, so graduates gain an understanding of what work a business conducts, the types of professionals involved and the organizational structure of companies. Strong relationships often exist between companies within the construction market, which may last for many years with repeat business won in terms of such relationships. The construction market operates through many different contractual and tendering processes that you will need to explain to new graduates who are recruited to your organization. Provide the following evidence in support of this process.
Assignment One Task 1
A discuss of how the construction industry has developed within the HK historically and now encompasses a range of professionals and their organization within its structures that identifies by listing the different types of construction companies operating within the HK and current Asia markets and the type of contractual work tendered by contractors. Analyse how the construction industry has developed in terms of company structures, employees and contracted work and a critical evaluation on how construction companies have developed their structure and business ethos.

Compare the main factors that differentiate construction companies in the market, contracts and tendering for example analyze sub-contractor and design and build main contractor, main contractor and client, partnering contractors and Government departments to include the catalysts and relationships that connect these together.

You are working for General Building Contractor ("the Contractor") as Planning Engineer who is responsible for planning resources and work sequences for construction projects at different stages in Hong Kong.
