EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK:

Let's start by diving into these lists of National Parks, Monuments and Preserves here in the United States. You will select one of these parks to study as well as an ecosystem within that location. You are not required to visit the park in person to complete this work and this park does not need to be near you. We are going to be using an online tool called iNaturalist to identify which plants and animals live in these parks, so if you'd like to explore somewhere new, go for it!

There is an an alternative option for those of you who would like to take on the challenge of finish this project locally with an in person site visit. You can read about this in depth on the Course Project Overview. You will still be using iNaturalist to supplement your work outdoors.

Before you make your final decision about which park you would like to focus on, ?we are going to guide you through studying plant and animal species of your park on iNaturalist so you can determine that there are enough documented species there for you to conduct a proper investigation. Ideally, you will select to work in a park that has at least 20 ?plant species and at least 20 ?animal species documented on iNaturalist. This will make it much easier to conduct your research on plant-animal interactions.
