Create interview questions and decide who you will be interviewing. Here are some additional factors to consider prior to the interview:
1. Explain the purpose of your interview to the person you will be interviewing.
2. Review what we have already learned in this class and what you have read in your text. This will help you create your questions.
3. Use general, open-ended questions that do not suggest a particular answer. This might start with phrases: tell me about, describe to me, explain...etc.
4. Ask questions to clarify areas you want to know more about. Examples would be: "Could you tell me more....", "What happened then?", "Could you elaborate on that, please?"
5. Create a climate for communication.
6. Relax and enjoy your interview/discussion. Allow it to feel like a conversation; however, it will have more structure than a random meeting because you have planned out your specific questions.
