Get Into the Field

You will "get into the field" and interview at least one criminal justice system professional (i.e., police officer, dispatcher, judge, lawyer, deputy sheriff, deputy probation officer, etc.) to ascertain how certain issue impacts that practitioner or the system. The possibilities are vast, so try searching the internet for agencies in the local area that would be willing to provide you with an employee who will either meet with you in person or conduct the interview by telephone. Most criminal justice professionals are happy to help if you identify yourself as a student. Ask at least 10 questions that you will compile before you start your interview. This will not be a manuscript of what your interviewee has stated, instead you will describe what your interviewee has stated and add information regarding the interviewee's field.

• Demonstrate college-level writing with the appropriate syntax, grammar, and spelling.
