Long working hours have deteriorated patient safety culture (Hayashi et al., 2020). Nurses who engage in long night shifts cause fatigue, which causes medical errors and compromises patient safety (Watanabe et al., 2022). Long night shifts are associated with intense fatigue in nurses(Watanabe et al., 2022).

Conclusion: I highly recommend night shift nurses take at least 30 mins nap to reduce fatigue, lower medical errors, and improve work satisfaction and pt safety.
