LABORATORY PRACTICAL REPORT- REDOX TITRATION
TASK: Produce a laboratory report using the experimental findings of your REDOX titration
Laboratory Report Guidelines
The laboratory report is based on the REDOX titration in our chemistry lab manual, which lists in great detail the experimental procedure with a great emphasis placed on health and safety. You will carry out the experimental task to collect results, which form the foundation of your report.
The report should be written using the Microsoft Word word-processing software with a recommendation of 1000-1500 words (± 10%).
The presentation of report must be clear using an appropriate font.
Diagrams, graphs and pictures must be clearly labelled and figure captions must be used and incorporated fully into text.
The language must be of very good standards with sound spelling, grammar and punctuation.
The report should focus on presentation, interpretation and analysis of the experimental results achieved in the laboratory practical.
Referencing and citations in this report must follow the Referencing Guide as required by NCUK, provided to all students.
Aim and Hypothesis
A short summary of the objective of the experiment and the hypothesis being investigated must be briefly discussed. Extensive background material is not required References should be included from academic sources e.g. books.
Discussion and Conclusions
This section should include a comparison of your experimental results with actual results and an explanation of any discrepancies or errors. You need to evaluate the method used in the experiment, for example, did the method used in the experiment make it a fair test. Are your results valid? Think about how you could improve the experiment to give more reliable or valid results.
Use sources of information from text books or other academic sources
The discussion should end with a conclusion which places the results in the context of the original hypothesis. State your results and uncertainties. Describe a use of a REDOX titration to place the report in context.
