We give the mean and the standard deviation of a sample that has been randomly selected from a population. For each exercise, find estimated tolerance intervals that contain approximately 68.26 percent, 95.44 percent, and 99.73 percent of the individual population measurements. Also, find a 95 percent confidence interval for the population mean. Interpret the estimated tolerance intervals and the confidence interval in the context of the situation related to the exercise. The mean and the standard deviation of the sample of 42 trash bag breaking strengths are formula 67.mml = 50.575 and s = 1.6438.
