Smith released into the Internet a worm that spread and multiplied. The worm found it's way into several educational and military sites causing those systems to crash. During the trial it was established that he did not intend for the worm to access those systems or do damage to them. Has Smith committed a crime? If so -which statute will apply? Point of law?
