International Entrepreneurship Assignment Problem

Part 1: Question for the cross-national stream. This question is compulsory.

"Encouraging entrepreneurship is bad public policy". Critically discuss this statement, using evidences from the GEM reports.

This is to be completed on an individual basis and the review should be no more than 1250 words. This part accounts for 50 per cent of the total mark.

Part 2: Question for the internationalizing stream. Pick ONE from the three questions below.

Provide a review in response to one of the three statements below which critically discusses the academic research in the field.

The three statements are:

1. Critically discuss the differences between a 'traditional firm' and the 'international new venture' in terms of their approach to internationalising.

2. Compare and contrast the three approaches of small firm internationalisation providing a critical discussion of the strengths and limitations of each.

3. Discuss the key forces influencing the internationalisation speed according to the model advanced by Oviatt and McDougall (2005), in particular the role of the entrepreneurial actor and their network relationships.
