You've discovered that two very different looking species have similar looking hip bones. Aquaticus maximus is a species with scales that lives in the water and swims. Aborealis fidgetis is a furred organism that lives in trees and climbs (the trees). Their hip bones are similar in that they allow a greater range of movement, which in A. maximus increases swimming speed and in A. fidgetis improves jumping distance from tree to tree.

1. Your hypothesis is that these hip structures are homologous. Provide one prediction of this hypothesis.
