An insulating sphere of radius R=0.10 m has a uniform surface charge density equal to 5.9 mC/m2. A point charge ofmagnitude 0.71 mC is 0.45 m from the center of the sphere. The magnitude of the force exerted by the sphere on the point charge is0.024 N.

Suppose the charged sphere is made from a conductor, ratherthan an insulator. Do you expect the magnitude of the force between the point charge and the conducting sphere to be greater than, lessthan, or equal to the force between the point charge and aninsulating sphere?
