Assessment 1 - Group Work
Formative Assessment 1
You will be provided the opportunity to present materials/ slides prior to the actual presentation submission in order to gain formative feedback.
Summative Assessment 1:
You will be divided into groups of no more than 4 members and each group will choose a FTSE 350 company, conduct critical appraisal on the digital strategy and applications of the company and present the findings.
You will be divided into groups of no more than 4 members and each group will choose a FTSE 350 company or equivalent, conduct critical appraisal on the digital strategy and applications of the company and present the findings as a group.
Each group can only choose a company from FTSE 350. This is based on first-come-first-served basis. Your group need to decide a company and submit the name of company by the 26th of November. A link for submission will be made available on Moodle.
If you don't choose a group and a company by that date, the lecturer will randomly assign you to a group with a pre-defined company.
Presentation structure:
» Rationale and justification of your company choice
» High level identification of the corporate strategy of the organisation
» The digital strategy of the organisation - including all the other relevant strategies such as content, mobile, social media, user experience, branding etc.
» The applications and tools used by the organisation and the digital performance of the organisation
» Considerations regarding the corporate digital responsibility of the organisation
» Recommendations for the organisation
Assessment 2 - Individual Essay
You will be required to submit a word/pdf document with your research topic and outline for formative feedback and approval.
You will research a topic pertaining to contemporary digital issues facing organisations. The topic must be approved by the lecturer.
This assignment requires you to research a topic pertaining to contemporary digital issues facing organisations, by addressing the following:
» Justification and rationale of the chosen topic.
» Comprehensive review of the evolution and current state of these contemporary digital issues in relation to your topic.
» Critical evaluation on the challenges and opportunities of these contemporary digital issues.
» Identify digital tactics and strategies undertaken by business organisation to address the issues.
» Conclusion and recommendations for business organisations.
» Future direction of these contemporary digital issues.
Your research must be based on a critical analysis of your chosen topic against a framework which is a distillation of the critical elements you have synthesised from your review of relevant literature and empirical evidence. You are expected to provide convincing evidence derived from secondary sources in your review, analysis and discussion.
You must use wide range of references, including academic and up-to-date references as the research is dealing with contemporary digital issues. Reference style must follow Harvard Reference Systems OR API. There is a minimum of 10 references no older than 2012 required for each essay. Although there is not a maximum number of references defined, it is advised to stay below 25. The report should be word-processed, the length of your critique should be between 3000- 4000 words, inclusive of cover and references. Please state the number of words using Word Count function at the end of your report.
