Pixar empowers employees by giving team members creative freedom to make decisions/take action within the organization. Every company is made up of employees and Pixar has 1, 233 employees as of 2020. These small daily decisions can and will impact the organization has a whole. By allowing employees to have a voice is important for a successful business.
Tesla innovative problem-solving organizational culture motivates the employees to allow development of profitable solutions to current and emerging problems in the market. Tesla promotes diversity through the commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Elon Musk empowers all his employees to share their thoughts and ideas. Tesla and Elon both have a string creative environment to allow people to freely share their voice. "One of the beliefs that empower Tesla employees is the company-wide belief that there can't be a 'wrong' answer when you do something that has never been done before. This thinking immediately removes any fear associated with making mistakes or the wrong decision" (Benton, 2021).
On of Pixar's main strategies for the future is to continue to make new and innovative movies and shows that represent the core values of Pixar and its team. Of course, they want to produce movies that are "liked" and are made of high quality. There are three strategies of the movie making process they are bucking down for in the future; these are the proprietary animation software, the DNA-deep culture of quality control, and to focus on people.
Pixar has the strategy of employees showing daily animation work in incomplete state to the whole crew, this helps employees get over any embarrassment about sharing unfinished work allowing them to become more creative. Pixar truly wants a free flowing environment for employees to present their raw and unfinished ideas.
Tesla has the innovation strategy of focusing on transforming the auto industry as the whole by making the teams to support transforming the auto industry. This company put out two reports in regards to boosting future profits and the company's future. One relating to its pricing tactics in China and another about a pivot in retail sales experience-provide clues to Tesla's business strategy. Together, they could set the direction for the car company's future earnings reports. They are also planning to overhaul its retail sales strategy to emphasize online sales. With these three strategies in place, Tesla is planning that these will have a major impact on it's future earning and growth (Sharma, 2021)
Tesla and Pixar both need to have leadership styles that create a more innovative culture that can lead the companies direction towards a new trajectory of growth and innovation. Innovative cultures start from top to down. Company leaders have a huge impact on companies success and culture. By having a clear vision for the future allows employees to trust and communicate with leadership in the company.
