A baseball is struck by a bat 46 cm from the axis of rotation when the angular velocity of the bat is 70 rad/s. If the ball is hit at a height of 1.2m at a45º angle, will the ball clear a 1.2m fence that is 110 m away? (Suppose that the initial velocity of the ball is the similar as the linear velocity of the bat at the point at which it is struck.)

What is the magnitude of the charge on each sphere : Two small metallic spheres, each of mass 0.20 g, are suspended as pendulums with light strings from a common point as shown in the figure below. The spheres are given the same electric charge; and it is found that they come to equilibrium when each s..
Thinking of the earth as a large conductor : In electronics it is customary to describe the potential of ground (thinking of the earth as a large conductor) as zero. Is this consistent with the fact that the earth has a net electric charge that is not zero? (Refer to ex. 21.32)
The average person passes out at an acceleration : The average person passes out at an acceleration of 7g (that is, seven times the gravitational acceleration on Earth). Assume a car is designed to accelerate at this rate. How much time (in seconds) would be needed for the car to accelerate from rest..
Take for an electron to travel the length of the wire : Copper has 8.5 X 1028 free electrons per cubic meter. A74.0-cm length of 12-gauge copper wire that is 2.05 mm in diameter carries 4.65 A of current. How much time does it take for an electron to travel the length of the wire?
