An information system is a way to acquire, store, process, and output information. The way that this happens is that the user inputs information into the system. Then the data is organized and stored until it gets processed. The data can be processed in a variety of different ways, which all depends on the owner's needs. Finally the processed information is outputted to the owner in whichever format that they desire. People are the driving force behind the information system. They are where the information comes form, that is inputted into the system. They are also responsible for modifying and updating the system. Organization is what is done with the information that is inputted into the system. When the information is organized, then it is easier to process for a result. The result is the information that is outputted to a desired device. These devices could be other computers, monitors, speakers, printers, or wireless devices. Some of the people involved in an information system are software programmers, customer service employees, and managers. Software programmers create and modify the software, while the customer service employees obtain feedback from the end user for future use, and the managers oversee the employees and projects. The organizational component provides structure to the information system, not only with managing the data, and also when it comes to developing business processes, while the technological component is a combination of software, computer hardware, and networking.
With this in mind, do you think any one component is more important than another? If so, why?
