Spread plate Dr. House has a wound on her arm. A bacteria swab was taken and grown in the lab. Bacteria a sample of bacteria was diluted 1:10,000 from the original stock solution. This was done twice - take the average of the number of colonies on the plates shown below to calculate the bacteria per ml.

The infectious dose of Infectious southun is 500,000. Could this bacteria be the causative agent of Dr. House's arm wound?

Results observed:

Plate 1 = Plate 2 =64 colonies

79 colonies

Write the formula for calculating the CFU/ml here and put in the numbers used.

(Nbacterial)(df)= C bacteria

Conclusion:

In a narrative form

Using the 5'I (Chapter 3, Cowan lecture book) Inoculation agar, Incubation, Isolation, Inspection, Identification.

Use the 5 I-s to explain how it was decided that the Infectious southun was or was not the cause of Dr. House arm wound.
