It is important for emergency managers to know and understand state and federal programs that are available to assist them in recovery. It is also important to know the types of assistance designed to meet community needs.

Identify TWO sources of Individual Assistance (IA) and TWO sources of Public Assistance (PA). Write a brief 250-word summary for each program. Your summaries should include:

1) A brief overview of the program. What department or organization administers it? Is it a grant or loan? What is needed to access the program (i.e., Presidential Disaster Declaration). What is the process for applying for the program?

2) A summary of eligibility (i.e., small business, income level).

3) Amount of financial aid available and any matching funds needed.

4) Other important information such as future obligations as a result of receiving the grant.
