Question
Independent variables can be a task to identify. When you are looking at what is reflecting your dependent variable, one needs to look at everything that can cause an issue with the dependent variable. For example, let's look at falls, if you are trying to decrease falls and you are implementing a fall risk assessment, you compare the falls from prior to the fall risk and after the fall risk. However, some other variables that may play a role would be pain medications, patients' cognitive status, patients mobility status etc. even if you include these on the fall assessment, not everyone will be the same. For example, if you have someone that is addicted to pain meds and their body is used to it, just because they are on pain medications might not mean they are a fall risk, versus someone who just started taking pain meds 1 day ago. So, looking back at your variables, would you include any other variables?
