Discussion on all things homeostasis. In the book Anatomy &
Physiology: The Unity of Form and Function by author Kenneth Saladin, he explains homeostasis as being a term that means organisms maintain stability throughout all interr conditions. These types of internal conditions are things like stable temperatures, blood p and body weight. The purpose of this correlates to negative feedback which is the proces which the body senses a change and activates a mechanism back to healthy. The mechani body brings due to these are things like sweating due to hotter temperatures and shiverin; colder temperatures, known as thermoregulation. With this, if homeostasis can not be res then the body will have to find a way or it mainly means disaster of that organism.
In the What if Homeostasis Fails? by David H. Nguyen, Ph.D. he states that if a disaster occurs organism then the reaction to it is much worse such as if your body temp falls too low or too high then you could experience hypothermia and/or heatstroke. These are both life-threatening occurrences that will leave you never the same.
