In lab we were given plasmid dna and competent e coli cells.  we plated they and let them grow on lb ampicillin plates. our TA then did something with them and we were given cell pellets the following week.  we did cell lysis, purified the dna and eluted the pure dna.  I want to know what experiments can i do to determine if my  dna pellet contains the plasmid it is suppose to and how to determine if what i have is even dna.
