The gas inside a cylinder is confined by a piston to a volume of 100 liters. an external force on the piston changes the volume of the gas to 40 liters via three different polytropic process ( pv n = constant ), where (a) n = 0 , (b) n = 1 , and (c) n = 1.3 . In each case, the final pressure is 2 bar. determine the work done by the gas and the initial pressure in each case. assuming an ideal gas, in which case would the temperature remain constant? (2, 12, 7.33, 0.608, 6.4).
