Healthcare organizations are all working towards improving quality and safety while decreasing costs. Workforce constraints impact organizations as they look at how to do more with fewer resources. Having doctoral-prepared nurses trained in project management and how to use data to drive change is essential to the nursing profession (Spies, 2024). Technology can assist organizations in meeting all their goals. To effectively use technology to advance healthcare, nurses must be involved in decisions impacting their workflow. Increasing nursing knowledge in project management and informatics will assist the nursing profession in using advanced technology to improve healthcare costs, quality, and efficiency. My goal for this class is to increase my knowledge of how technology can transform nursing and obtain further project management skills.
