Based on this scenario:
The healthcare industry and sector are an important part of the Canadian economy. The industry and sector employ a large number of people and provides a vital service to the community. However, the healthcare industry and sector are also facing several challenges. The Health and Safety team at the Senior's residence in a suburb of Toronto has a key ongoing goal to keep workers safe from any injury, harassment, or occupational disease. My team will make every effort to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for the senior residents. The senior residents have many employers each working hard and are highly trained in hazards such as biological and chemical agents, lifting, and personal protective equipment. The employees work rotating shifts and experience a myriad of demands caring for many vulnerable patients and their families. Throughout this action plan, we will be analyzing how the senior residents can implement a health and safety plan to ensure any problems don't occur. The common risk, hazards or OHS trends can include an increase in aggression and conflict between staff, patients, and family members, an increase in harassment allegations and complaints, and a decrease in morale. For example, employees who are feeling stressed, vulnerable or unhappy, may be more likely to make a mistake and overlook potential hazards. To address these challenges, a compressive plan is needed. The plan will be focused on improving the safety culture and physical safety of the healthcare industry. Additionally, the plan will aim to improve the quality of care that staff members can provide.
