The style approach expanded the focus of leadership from personal characteristics to incorporate leadership actions. Leadership style consists of task and relationship behaviors. The style approach has been validated by a number of studies. Further, this understanding allows us to consider our actions as leaders and what we might want to change to improve our leadership effectiveness.
