Microsoft Excel spreadsheets are one of the most important software applications you can use-especially in your career. Excel is a type of application that utilizes numbers, but it is so much more than that. It allows the user to create, analyze, help manage, and share data. Although Excel is important for business use, it can be an extremely useful tool for personal use as well.

In your discussion post:

  • First, research why the features in Excel are important for business and personal use. Provide a list of important features and why these are necessary. In your post, include any references that you used in your research.
  • Second, from a business standpoint, what jobs are most likely to require Excel. Why?
  • Third, from a personal standpoint, are there Excel tasks that you can do equally as well in Word or PowerPoint? Identify at least one task that you feel you could be done in Word or PowerPoint.
