The business chosen for this assignment is a nationwide retailer and wholesaler of organic food products and natural health products. The company will offer all kinds of organic, chemical free food products and natural health products sourced from all across the world throughout the United States via its own stores as well as retail network. The main USP of the company will be that its products will be guaranteed for quality, freshness and adherence to prescribed standards for organic food and the company will offer the largest variety or organic and natural health products to customers. The name of the organization will be "The Green Shop", depicting the environmental friendliness of the products.
The mission statement of the organization will be: To mission of Green Shop is to improve the health and lifestyle of customers by offering largest selection of fresh, high quality and pure organic food and natural health to customers across the country.
We will differentiate our products and service by offering certification with respect to adherence to prescribed standards and regulations, or in other words "certified organic" products as well as natural health products sourced from all over the world. Customers will not need to go to any other place for their organic and natural health products requirement and will get large selection of natural health and organic products under one roof in our stores.
2. Create a vision for this organization that clearly demonstrates your decision on what you want your business to become in the future.
The vision for the organization will be: To establish Green Shop as the market leader in the organic and natural health products industry by setting unparalleled standards in terms of quality, product range and customer service.
Basically, I want to establish my business as a pioneer in the organic food retailing and natural health products industry by offering high quality products sourced from different markets across the world and back up my product range with world class customer service. The quality of my product and service will force people to come again and again to my shops and make increased use of such products to improve their health and lifestyle.
3. Define your guiding principles or values for your selected business considering the topics of culture, social responsibility, and ethics.
Guiding principles or Values:
Customer First: Customers are our priority. We will always make an extra effort to ensure that customers remain satisfied with our products and service. We will strive to resolve customer issues and queries at the earliest. For us, customers are the king.
Diversity: We will encourage and promote diversity at our workplace. We will encourage hiring of employees from different cultures, ethnic background and nations to make our workplace a true reflection of global culture.
Corporate Social Responsibility: Our business is to make the world healthier, environment friendly and disease free. The vision is basically the end goal that organization strives to achieve whereas mission and values will provide the framework or structure for guiding each action in the strategic plan of the organization. Therefore, the structure and framework provided by the vision, mission and values will actually set the right direction for the organization's activities.
Each employee of the organization will clearly know that how each action affects the overall vision, mission and values of the organization and thus, prevent himself from doing tasks that are against the vision, mission and values. These are like guiding principles to formulate the broad corporate strategy and the elements of the strategic plan.
Vision, mission and values will help in aligning different set of interrelated activities or elements of the strategic plan together and will help in identifying deviations from the strategic path, thereby keeping everything in one place for achieving the goals of the organization.
