We hear a lot about organizational values when talking about strategic planning, let's take a closer look at what that really means. What are values? According to our authors; Swayne, Duncan, &Ginter (2013), "Value is defined as the amount of satisfaction received relative to the price and the expected outcome or results" (p. 131). Core values need to be clear in the early stages of an organization for guiding organizational behavior.

Why is value creation an important concept to health care organizations? Is value creation more or less important in health care than in other industries?
