Assessment Details
These will develop the following skills:
• Interpersonal Skills. Participation in the Student Workshop will enhance the students' ability to get along with others while working with the team. In addition, the assessment will test the following learning outcomes:
• Evaluate the concepts and theories relating to the management of people, including personality, perception, communication, motivation and group dynamics and their influence on management styles and work processes.
• Discuss the roles and responsibility of managers and leaders to achieve an organisation's goals and objectives through the coordinated efforts of its people, whilst acknowledging individual needs, expectations and attitudes and apply the theory in practical problem- solving situations.
• Explore how group behaviour and team processes can impact upon organisational success.
Assessment Task
The seminar-workshop will be conducted in a form of academic instruction as a "theory and application" learning strategy covering "Stress Management". This will be done through a classroom setting where varied activities will be applied. Students must interact. They will read and study a case relevant to the Topic. Students are required to form a team of 5 members maximum and provide solutions of the case study to be distributed during the seminar- workshop.
The objective of this seminar-workshop is to reinforce students' experiential learning through participating in group dynamic activities. Implementing and practicing the actual concept or technique that was taught through the lecture and demonstration process. The group dynamic activity during the seminar will help students feel more comfortable by developing a deeper connection with their classmates. They need to unite as a team; this will enhance their communication skills, knowledge, and abilities to interact with one another.
The Student Seminar Workshop will be a two-hour activity to be arranged and scheduled within the semester. One hour will be allotted for concept discussion and another one hour will be for the "theory and application" group-based activity. The learning outcomes will be assessed through individual Reflective Reports.
