Aim - The aim of this module is to provide the students with knowledge and practical insight of the important concepts, fundamental principles, design, and operation of an engineered landfill
Learning Outcomes -
• Describe appropriate methods to minimize the impact to the public health from solid waste related activities.• Analyze the importance of an integrated solid waste handling system including source reduction. recycling and reuse, composting, landfilling, and combustion.• Develop a more informed opinion on a variety of solid waste related issues.
Task
1) Site Visit Report
Site visit will be arranged to an engineered landfill site to observe the design. operation and sold waste disposal process followed by a report submission.
Requirement for the Report:
Write a detailed report on the site visit for solid waste management i.e., components and observations at the site. The contents and the requirements are shown in the following table

Report requirement Submit soft copy of the assignment on/before Report should not be less than 2000 words. Information and data on similar subject matter may be cdlected from Municipalities, Ministries. be'ah. Internet and other sources but must be referenced as suitable.
