You are in a leadership position at a health care organization. Your company has recently undergone two state investigations due to unethical decisions made by a few direct care staff members. As a result of the investigations, you are required by the state to develop an action plan to address ethics. You are approached by a senior leader and assigned the task of building an action plan that results in a corporate culture rooted in ethics.

Your action plan should include the following:

• The importance of a company culture rooted in ethics
• Ethical education training plan for employees (upon hire, routine in-services, and annually)
• The development of an ethics committee - including the roles and responsibilities of the committee, frequency of meetings, and key elements for consideration when assigning members and responsibilities
• At least four core ethical virtues for employees to model
• A plan for how you will model and disseminate this action plan and action items to all staff - consider the important role leaders play in this process.
