Question

Since Keurig sources its coffee beans from Latin America, Africa, and Asia, they must go through customs. Before the coffee is even shipped to the U.S., certain documents are required for smooth transport because all food imports must meet FDA regulations. A well-documented shipment is less likely to be pulled for spot inspections, which could delay port entry (Kienzle, 2018). Once it arrives, it must be cleared by customs and other regulatory agencies before going to the manufacturer. Once the K-Cups are produced and packed, it is shipped to distribution centers and stores. If the K-Cups were shipped internationally, could they be subject to import fees and customs inspections?
