ASSIGNMENT:
I am writing a paper on the following questions for Venice and its Lagoon. However, I am having trouble finding information on the political and social organization of the site on the following questions:
- What can be said about the social organization of the people during your period?
- Do there appear to be significant differences in dwelling size, the richness of household or burial goods, or other factors that might indicate differences in power or wealth?
- Do available studies of skeletons indicate significant differences in the nutritional health of different individuals (old vs. young, men vs. women, cross-cutting age and gender)?
- Are there major monuments or other earth, wood, or stone constructions that would have required mobilization of large numbers of people?
- Did people live in small or large houses, camps, large villages, or cities, and what are the implications of these observations for the presence of leaders, of social inequality, or other social or political features you have read about in previous weeks?
