Question:  What specifically did this paragraph mean? I found Brooks' arguments to be convincing. She laid out her points in a way that was very easy to follow, and she provided sources to back up her arguments. She started by highlighting her personal experiences within the organization she was arguing against. She also provided information that she had worked within the legal system as well. This makes me find her more credible due to her personal experience alone. Her use of citing statistics of on-duty violence and the history surrounding it really homed in on her closing argument. I found her argument to be a strong one, probably due to my agreeableness to this topic already. I liked the solutions she provided that would give more empathetic alternatives to police academy training programs. I believe these changes would lead to more positive interactions between law enforcement and the people they are meant to serve. I would agree that the state of policing in the United States is a huge issue in our society today. Implementing these small changes could create drastic constructive improvements over time do well?
