Assessment Instructions
Your summative assessment will take the form of a 2,500-word assignment which will address all module learning outcomes. Each student will be required to produce a final 2500-word executive summary report (in the provided .xls template), which will include the BI / Data Analytics solutions (including the MS Excel products that were used during the semester).
For this assessment, you have been appointed as a Business Analyst in charge of Newcastle Football Club (FC) or an arbitrary real Company, Business, or Organization performance review. You are expected to submit a report that will critically appraise your chosen department or sector by implementing and deploying a Business Intelligence/Data Analytics System (using Microsoft Excel).
This report should the following key elements:
1. An introduction to the problem/opportunity statement regarding Newcastle FC or another chosen company, business, or organization
2. Theoretical framework to link problem/opportunity statement with business intelligence/data analytics system
3. Evidence of knowledge of key business intelligence/data analytics systems (MS Excel)
4. Critical analysis and justification of the effective and efficient use of the BI / DA system implemented (MS Excel)
5. A conclusion and recommendations for the successful implementation and use of a BI / DA solution in Newcastle FC or another chosen Company, Business, or Organization
6. Clarity of expression and presentation. The report must be supported by academic references and examples and include a single reference list.
Formative assessment will occur through opportunities to receive feedback to develop and reinforce on your learning and/or your draft report from your peers and/or tutors.
