Assignment:

You are a nurse practitioner in a federally qualified community clinic. The clinic is committed to integrating electronic health records into the practice. You have been part of a team that has explored options and wanted to take advantage of federal funding to help purchase and implement the new EHR. The clinic team has decided on a product and is ready to begin implementation. The implementation has to include the collecting of data in a way that will allow the reporting of meaningful use data as well as patient-centered medical home data.

You are particularly interested in the use of technology to improve the quality of care and volunteer to head the work with the EHR implementation to ensure that the EHR is functioning as expected. There is also a challenge with the staff, who are open to the implementation but don't know how to use it effectively. You realize this is a large task and need a plan.
