Request a graph showing cost savings and decrease waiting time on diagnostic cd/image delivery to the choice provider. The cost of redoing ct scans, x-ray and mri are too costly compared to the referring facility sending diagnostic that are already completed by FedEX to the TPA Choice.
Problem: Delayed cd/images to Choice providers d/t prolonged wait time for provider's contact information available for CM to mail cd/image to provider's address noted in Choice portal. This delay has cause rescheduling of appointments d/t waiting for cd/images to arrive for evaluation.
Proposing a system with Choice to expedite delivery of image/cd to Choice for continuity of care for the Veteran.
Plan of Action: Schedule a meeting with the Embedded Team, Urology (Dr. Crotty) to discuss implementation of a system for quicker image/cd delivery to avoid delay in care.
Details: Purposed to Choice to designate a team/individual to received image/cd from VA via Fedex, and once received to link with appropriate referral and Veteran information to mail to Choice provider before appointment time.
Desired outcomes: Decreased waiting time for Veteran care, and Choice providers have immediate access to appropriately evaluate/treat Veteran's medical condition.
In conclusion, this would not only prevent delay care, but also increase patient satisfaction with VA and with the Choice program. I spoke with Glenda and she stated full agreement with this proposal.
