Taking it Further
Surveillance System: - ideally our group aims to establish a surveillance system that will enable the various networks and field that are currently in existence to access and share information. The information logged within the system will enable physicians, clinical workers, researchers, public health officials, etc. to transmit and receive information that will allow them to speed up treatment and or provide the necessary response to a crisis at hand. This system represents a collective sense of togetherness and it can greatly change the scope of treatment and diagnosis within the health care system. Therefore, implementing a surveillance system such as this one will be a major step in the right direction, that long term can cut down the cost of health care. For example, physicians do not always communicate with one another and often time they will request a patient to run the same test twice simply because they did not think about picking up the phone can shoot over test results. However, once logging into this surveillance system, they will be able to visually see the results of their initially requested test.
In our attempt to take this project further, we plan on reaching out to local officials who are currently running for office. Collectively, our group will pitch the idea of establishing a central surveillance system that will enable the various fields to have one central data base of reliable information. This data base will house necessary information regarding treatment, diagnosis, public health issues that may have contributed to a health condition. For example, one member of our group in currently within the phycology discipline and it is not uncommon to find that a patient's mental health has suffered as a result of physical environmental factors. Therefore, the phycologist may need to be privy to the environmental factors that lead to their patient's breakdown. It is our hope that the candidate for office or someone that is on their campaign will respond to our pitch for this system. Through this interaction, we would like to establish an open communication channel that will help us gage just how feasible our idea is overall. As it is our aim to have our idea for a national surveillance system to be launched and become implemented within the inner workings of the health care system as well as across the board for the other disciplines.
Collectively, we will establish a paper that will highlight our hopes, for the implementation of a surveillance system that is intended to be a little more structure and relief to the existing state of the health care system. Currently as it stands, the United States government is technically not inclined to provide the people with health care, as it is not something that is addressed with the constitution. Therefore, our overall idea will help remedy this problem and perhaps it would help to lift some of the burden that is felt by the federal government. Thus, urging them to be more forth coming with implementing our intended surveillance system. We will structure our findings in a formal paper that will attempt to cover all bases. For example, there will be a sample policy testimony, grant proposal and sourced research that will help to make a compelling argument for implementation purposes.
