Draft an encomium speech (of praise) that celebrates an object, figure, or idea that is usually considered to be (by the wider public or a specific community) too insignificant, unattractive, pointless, ridiculous to be worthy of such praise. Your goal is to demonstrate you understand the form and potential of the type of speech known as Encomium. The Encomium of Helen is a model. Implement the ideals of rhetoric. Be sure to employ the techniques such as engaging with endoxa, or statements of popular opinion, to make your point. You should also use antithesis and other rhetorical techniques to explore opposing arguments. By casting doubt upon one position, you can use the sophistic idea of probability of truth to move your audience to your position.
