Objective:
You are encouraged to see the role of a project manager within the broader perspective of strategic business management, understanding where projects come from and why they are selected.
Outcomes:

2. Appraise key aspects of a given computer-related project within the scope of the indicative content
Tasks: Read the following tasks, understand and present your response in a document not more than 8 to 10 pages.
Assume that you are a project manager in Muscat ICT Systems Development Company which is located in Muthra, Muscat, Oman. Muscat ICT Systems Development Company undertakes projects based on specific client requirements. These projects typically include development of:
I. Interactive Mobile application for all school teacher for information and knowledge sharing.
II. Automation of inventory management system and sales tracking for a shipment company.
III. Design, implement and deploy smart recycling system that includes software and hardware to track and report recycling process.
IV. Deployment IoT based SMART campus security system of Middle East College.
Choose any one of the above to complete the tasks given:
Task 1 (Proposal):
• Submit a work proposal for this assignment by the end of week 6 which must include:
- Understanding of deliverables - a detail description of deliverables
- General overview of proposed plan - initial understanding of solution to task 2,3 and 4
- Resources identification and references
- The work proposal must be submitted in a word file through the link available in Moodle.
Task 2:
Write a scope statement for the selected project. You can read the article "Improve Project Success with Better Scope Management" by Avneet Mathur which highlights the key aspects to be considered while capturing the scope of the project. See the detail task and marking scheme below:
• Justification: A brief statement on the business need your project addresses.
• Objective: the goal and measurable objectives of the proposed system.
• Product scope description: The characteristics of the products, services, and/or results your project will produce.
• Stakeholder: Identify and analyzing the benefit and impact of the stakeholder.
• Limitations of the proposed system.
• Interfaces of the proposed System.
• Cost, timeline and budget.
Task 3:
Upon review of the scope presented in task 2, the management of Muscat ICT Systems Development Company decides to include sustainable factors into the project. Identify, Analyze and present five factors to be included in the scope document of task 2 to make the project sustainable.
Task 4:
The Risk Management Plan: Identify the risk can be arise based on the following scenario and explain the way of mitigation from those risk
After reviewing your project plan, Muscat ICT Systems Development Company management has decided that the project schedule needs to extend 1 month more to ensure quality by more testing period as well as few software resource need to update for scalability of the system.
Identify at least 4 risk involved in the above scenario and for each of the four risks identified, describe a strategy for managing each risk.
