The nursing staff, who will implement and follow the new bedside shift report protocol, is the target population. They were chosen due to the direct impact of the protocol on their work and patient care. The project was proposed to the clinical director and nurse manager. The bedside shift report protocol was developed collaboratively with the preceptor and presented to the leadership team. After receiving approval from the leadership team, the protocol was emailed to the nursing staff and announced during staff meetings. These were also reviewed during shift change huddles under the preceptor's supervision. The nursing staff reported appreciating the flexibility in learning. A committee evaluated the current orientation process, considering potential modifications or additions. The preceptor was readily available to provide feedback and guidance throughout this process.
