Victimology is the study of victims of crimes on a deep level, and the impacts of crimes on the victim. The difference is that as victimology is the study of victims criminology is the study of criminals, the how and why and the psychology of criminals and the cause of criminal behavior the scientific study of illegal activities and their victims. The importance of victimology is to have a better understanding of the victim and the victim rights. While looking at the CDE I looked up homicide and the numbers been high since 2020, the highest being in 2021, the victim and offender are around the same age 20-29, the relationship seems to usually be unknown. What I find interesting about this website is how these numbers are calculated and the statistics gathered through uniform crime reporting, the summary reporting.
